が出版されましたので、お知らせいたします。
日本・英国・米国の研究者が草双紙について縦横に論じた英語の論文集です。
内容について、簡単に紹介させていただきます。
第1部（第1章～第5章）は Mediality in Kusazōshi （草双紙のメディア性）をテーマとし、草双紙を形作る要素や制作工程、初期草双紙・黄表紙・合巻のそれぞれの紙面の特徴などを論じます。
第2部（第6章～第12章）はThe Pleasures of Reading （読む楽しみ）をテーマに、黄表紙・合巻を中心に、同時代事象・遊び・浮世絵・メタフィクション・世界と趣向・歌舞伎との関わりなどの角度から考察を加え、その豊かな世界を浮き彫りにします。
第3部（第13章～第16章）はApproaching Kusazōshi in a Global Context （グローバルな文脈からのアプローチ）をテーマとし、近現代における草双紙の受け止められ方、草双紙とマンガの比較、草双紙の翻訳など、多様な視点から草双紙を論じます。
