昨年度、京都大学文学研究科・文学部公開シンポジウムにおいて、文学研究科附属文化遺産学・人文知連携センターは、「デジタル人文学」の4人の専門家を呼び、シンポジウムを開催しました。デジタル人文学は、人文情報学、さらに英語のDigital Humanitiesをそのまま用いた用語でも呼ばれ、デジタル技術を用いて文化資源・人文資料の保全・展示・分析・教育を行う学際的な研究分野です。さらに今年度はKyoto University Digitization Hub of the Humanities, Social and Cognitive Sciences (KUDH)というワーキンググループを設け、8月22日から26日まで、KUDH Basics: LaTeXワークショップを開き、数学や物理学、文系ではとくに社会科学や認知科学の論文でよく用いられる組版ソフトLaTeXの講習を行いました。

そしてこの度、人文知連携の旗印のもと、本学の人文科学研究所および本学図書館から、デジタル人文学で活躍する3人の研究者を中心に、ヨーロッパおよびアメリカ合衆国から、7人のデジタル人文学の研究者・実践者を招き、国際会議を開催する運びとなりました。取り上げられる分野は、デジタルコーパス、文字符号化、デジタルアーカイブの3つですが、扱われる文化資源は、漢字文化圏、西洋古代、古代エジプト、古代マヤと広範です。参加者の時差なども考慮し、通常は2日連続で行われるところを、2-3時間のセッション4つに分け、第1-aセッションは10月2日、第2セッションと第3セッションを10月16日、第1-bセッションを10月23日に開催します。第1-aセッションと第1-bセッションは同じテーマのセッションです。各研究発表は40分ですが、その後20分と十分な質問時間を設けております。デジタル人文学、DHに関心のある皆様のご参加をおまちしております。
